New Announcements!

NEW WORSHIP TIMES

Beginning on September 12 we will have two services each Sunday.  Our traditional service is scheduled for 9 am and
The Abbey service, featuring contemporary music, will begin at 10:30 am.  All are welcome at 10 am Fellowship Time between the two services.

Corinthians I - A Study

Join Larry Arbour on Sunday mornings at 9 am for a study of the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians.  Open discussion will focus on how Paul's teachings apply to our daily lives and how we can use that for discipleship.  Feel free to come to the study any Sunday you are available!

MUSIC DIRECTOR APPOINTED

Musicians needed!

Dean Luethi began serving as Music Director on August 1.  He is responsible for musical offerings during both the traditional service and
The Abbey, a more contemporary service.  Dean comes with church musical leadership experience, most recently from St. Matthew Lutheran church in Urbana, Illinois.  He will be joining the WSU Music Department as an Associate Professor.

Dean welcomes vocalists for the choir in the traditional service as well as vocal and instrumental musicians for
The Abbey service.  Also beginning rehearsals is a bell choir under the direction of Cindy Arbour.  Call the church office to let Dean know you want to share your musical gifts!

 Blood Drive

Simpson UMC will host an American Red Cross blood drive Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1- 6 pm.   Blood donation is a simple four-step process: registration, medical history, and mini-physical and refreshments.  One donation can help save the lives of up to three people.  The blood used in an emergency is on the shelf ready to be used thanks to volunteer blood donors.  Pre-register to limit wait times. Call the church office at 332-5212.

Habitat for Humanity

We are partnering with The Palouse Chapter of Habitat for Humanity to help reach its goal of building 2 houses per year in our area.  Construction is underway on a family home in Palouse, WA and a work team from Simpson UMC will head out there on Saturday, October 23 to spend the day with others committed to this hands-on ministry. No experience necessary!  Each of us can contribute in some way (must be at least 14 years old).
Stop in or call (332-5212) the church office to let us know if you can join us.
